  • On January 21st, Subscription of IWICS Series B Preferred Stocks
    Green Packet subscribed for 2,000,000 Series B Preferred Stocks of USD1 each in IWICS Inc (“IWICS”). Green Packet had also on even date entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with IWICS Inc. to set up a joint venture company (“JV Co.”) in Malaysia.
  • IWICS is an emerging company with intellectual protected technology which is also being utilised in part for the development of the SONmetro solution.
  • On January 24th, Strategic Collaboration with Zhejiang Telecom
    Green Packet via its wholly-owned subsidiary, Green Packet (Shanghai) Ltd, entered into a partnership agreement with Zhejiang Telecom Company Limited, on a synergistic collaboration to promote the total solution of “Wireless E-communication” in the Zhejiang province.
  • On March 3rd, Formation of Packet One International
    Pursuant to the MOU dated 21 January 2006, Green Packet entered into a joint venture agreement with IWICS to establish the JV Co., Packet One International Sdn Bhd (“Packet One International”) to develop and market wireless broadband systems and solutions.
  • On March 31st, Acquisition of Nextel Companies
    Green Packet entered into a Conditional Share Sale Agreement with vendors of Nextel Companies to acquire 75% of the equity interest in each of Next Telecommunications Sdn Bhd, J&C Pacific Sdn Bhd, Millercom Sdn Bhd and Next Global Technology Sdn Bhd (collectively referred to as the “Nextel Companies”) for a total cash consideration of RM24,750,000 in return for profit guarantees of RM7,000,000 and RM8,000,000 for FYE 2006 and FYE 2007 respectively.
  • The parties had also on even date entered into a put and call option for the remaining 25% of equity interest in each of the Nextel Companies.
  • Green Packet will leverage on Nextel Companies’ strength in sales, marketing and operational support network to market its existing SON solutions. It will also serve as a platform for the provision of wireless broadband services by Packet One International.
  • On May 4th, Green Packet Teams Up With DiGi
    Green Packet and DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd announced the availability of a joint enterprise mobility solution that provides mobile professionals with easy access to enterprise applications and communications capabilities wherever and whenever is required.
  • On May 22nd, Synergistic Tie up with Hunan Telecom
    Green Packet via its wholly-owned subsidiary, Green Packet (Shanghai) Ltd, entered into a partnership agreement with Hunan Telecom Company Limited on a synergistic collaboration to promote the total solution of “Wireless E-communication” in the Hunan province.
  • On May 24th, MOU with Kalaam Telecom Bahrain
    Packet One International entered into a MOU with Kalaam Telecom Bahrain B.S.C.(c) (“Kalaam”) in order for Kalaam to utilise Packet One International’s technology for the deployment of wireless broadband last mile solution.
  • On June 15th, Green Packet Joined Hands with SEDCO
    Green Packet entered into a joint venture agreement with Saudi Economic & Development Co. Ltd. as part of the Company’s strategic plan to penetrate into the Middle East market (including Turkey and Iran), North Africa and Pakistan.
  • On June 30th, Green Packet Raises RM90.71 Million
    Completion of first private placement of 36,725,000 new ordinary shares of RM0.10 each in Green Packet at an issue price of RM2.47 per share, raising total gross proceeds of RM90.71 million.
  • On July 13th, Official Launch of SONaccess OUS
    Green Packet launched its most enterprising communication solution to date in its SONaccess Office Unlimited Solution (“SONaccess OUS”) that reduces the technical complexity of anytime, anywhere, any device communication to a ‘single IP and single number’ affair.
  • On July 18th, Acquisition of MIB
    Green Packet entered into a Share Sale Agreement with Mr Chen Yow Seong, Dutamas Regal Sdn Bhd and Dutamas Equity Sdn Bhd for the proposed acquisition of 550,000 ordinary shares of RM1.00 each, representing 55% of the equity interest in Packet One Networks (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (formerly known as MIB Comm Sdn Bhd) (“Packet One Networks”) for a total cash consideration of RM6 million. Packet One Networks holds valid Class Application Service Provider (“ASP”), Individual Network Service Provider (“NSP”) and Individual Network Facilities Provider (“NFP”) (“MCMC Licenses”). The MCMC Licenses will enable Green Packet to proliferate the adoption of Green Packet’s SONmetro solution and the provision of wireless broadband services.
  • Packet One Networks has submitted an application for WiMAX spectrum license. The spectrum license will enable the holder to operate a wireless broadband network within a regulated spectrum.
  • On July 31st, Subscription of IWICS Series C Preferred Stocks
    Green Packet had further entered into the following agreements with IWICS:
    1. Variation of the subscription of the 2,000,000 Series B Preferred Stocks of USD1 each into 3,000,000 Series B Preferred Stocks of USD0.67 each for a total purchase consideration of USD2.01 million;
    2. Series C Preferred Stock Purchase Agreement to subscribe for 2,000,000 Series C Preferred Stocks of USD1 each in IWICS;
    3. Series C Preferred Shareholders’ Agreement with IWICS and the existing shareholders of IWICS; and
    4. Put Option And Call Option Agreement for Green Packet to purchase 2,000,000 Series B Preferred Stocks in IWICS.
  • On September 6th, Listing of GMO on AIM
    Listing of GMO Limited, an associate company of Green Packet, on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange.
  • On September 8th, Unveiling of WNIAB
    Green Packet unveiled SONbuddy Wireless in a Box (‘WNIAB’), a multi-functional wireless kit that is portable, convenient, and equipped with multiple collaborative features. WNIAB is a product extension of Green Packet’s SONbuddy solution which offers the simplest method for mobile workers, home users and students to network and internet with each other.
  • On November 21st, Green Packet Collaborates with China Unicom
    Green Packet via Green Packet (Shanghai) Ltd entered into a Collaboration Agreement with China United Telecommunication Corporation Shanghai Branch to offer Internet Protocol Voice services.
  • On December 1st, Green Packet Raises RM181.8 Million
    Completion of second private placement of 40,397,500 new ordinary shares of RM0.10 each in Green Packet at an issue price of RM4.50 per share, raising total gross proceeds of RM181.79 million.
  • On December 12th, A winner in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific 2006
    Green Packet was ranked 49 in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific 2006 event.
  • On December 20th, Bonus Issue and Transfer to Main Board
    Green Packet announced to undertake a proposed bonus issue and proposed transfer from Mesdaq Market to Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
