What is SONbuddy
SONbuddy is an intelligent software platform designed to enable any WiFi-equipped devices (802.11b/g/a) to form a spontaneous Self Organizing Network (SON). SONbuddy automatically seek, organize and maintain a peer-to-peer and peer-to-multi-peer ad hoc community network. A rich set of built-in applications enables the exchange of information and internet sharing with your buddies without using an AP or a router.
Self Organizing
Without relying on infrastructure based central servers, SONbuddy makes use of peer to peer technologies to self organize the device's network based on the user's preferences.
Self Discovery and Auto Routing
SONbuddy starts to discover people that are within the device's vicinity. Other than distance, SONbuddy makes use of other parameters such as bandwidth and battery power to intelligently build up the network.
Self Optimizes and Self Heals
SONbuddy continues to monitor the network to check whether any further optimization can be done. It will Self optimize the network to choose the best routes. If it detects broken link within the network, SONbuddy Self heals it automatically.
128Bit AES Encryption
If the device is enabled with VPN, SONbuddy makes sure that the device is only visible to authorized users. All data sent out is encrypted and receivers are by authorization.
Multi-hopping Extends Coverage
If the device is out of reach or obstructed, SONbuddy uses Multihop to reach the remote device.
Non-Line of Sight
2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi RF power gets absorbed by obstacles easily.
Without direct sight of AP, the signal quality is poor.
SONbuddy multi-hop technology automatically select the best hopping route to reach the internet gateway, resulting in better indoor coverage.
