SONaccess Unified Mobility is designed for mobile carriers to support Ubiquitous computing by integrating Wi-Fi, EDGE, GPRS and 3G wireless data services. The solution is made up of the following components:
1. SONaccess Mobile Service Home Agent
2. SONmobile Mobile Enterprise Client Software
3. Wireless PC Card
4. SONview Network Management System

HA2000 Mobile Service Home Agent
HA2000 is a carrier-grade multi-service router that provides the core hardware platform for SONaccess Unified Mobility. Its main functionalities include mobile IP packet forwarding, mobile VPN encryption/decryption, authentication, accounting and mobile service platform. HA2000 is designed for use in the demanding environments of operator networks via its blade server computing architecture. Service providers are able to meet capacity requirements in a cost-effective and flexible manner by deploying blades corresponding to the targeted subscriber base and adding more blades as the service is scaled up. In addition to being easily deployed in existing wireless broadband infrastructures, HA2000’s redundancy and load balancing features ensure that the operator’s scalability and performance needs are met.
SONmobile Mobile Enterprise Client
The SONmobile mobile Enterprise client software is installed on mobile devices like laptops or smartphones. It manages both the secure connection to the corporate network and the automatic choice of network—transparently to the user. When the laptop is unplugged from the corporate LAN, the Mobile Enterprise Client automatically switches to WLAN and starts encrypting the traffic thus relieving the end user from performing cumbersome network configurations.
SONmobile makes the complexities of wireless roaming transparent to users. Transparent roaming minimizes workflow disruptions, improves productivity, and encourages greater use of wireless devices. SONmobile integrates communication features optimized for Intel Centrino mobile technology, such as adapter switching (roaming on the fly between fixed Ethernet, WLAN, and WWAN), online and offline modes, and the intelligent handling of unreliable network connections.

3G/GPRS Dual Mode PC Card
When inserted into a Centrino-powered notebook or tablet PC, the 3G/GPRS Dual Mode PC Card allows connection to 3G or GPRS networks in addition to Wi-Fi networks. This card is the perfect companion to the SONmobile software as SONmobile will automatically manage the hybrid network connections available to the mobile device, thereby bringing true mobility and connectivity to users.

NM3000 SONview Network Management System
Green Packet’s SONview Network Management System (NMS) is a secure distributed NMS offering real-time monitoring of networks, proactive notification of faults and easy device management. NM3000 is suitable for managing large carrier/operator networks, supporting up to 25,000 network devices. SONview’s trend reporting and charting capabilities provide network administrators with clear views of the network’s overall health, utilization and load.
Compatibility with a wide range of network devices (switches, routers, wireless access points) is assured via SONview’s support of the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). SONview’s various methods of fault notification (Alarm box with audible warning, email, pager, trap forwarding, execute application) ensures swift response and fault rectification.
